The first human main character revealed for the series is Kanan Jarrus, who is described as a "cowboy Jedi" and is voiced by actor Freddie Prinze, Jr. on the series. Animation supervisor Keith Kellogg was quoted as saying, "What I like about Kanan is he is a Jedi but he's not a Jedi in the traditional sense that we've had before on the show. He's a little more rough around the edges. He's kept his lightsaber locked away, so he hasn't used it in a long time." [3]
The final main character revealed for the series was Hera Syndulla, who is voiced by Vanessa Marshall. She is a green-skinned Twi'lek and is the pilot of Kanan's ship, The Ghost. Executive producer Dave Filoni described her as "Kind of the heart of the group, keeps everyone together when they would otherwise fall apart." [4]
Expected to be the breakout character on the series, Sabine Wren was introduced in a trailer preview as a feisty explosives expert voiced by Tiya Sircar. Adorned in customized Mandalorian armor, she stands against the rebels and likes using her artistic skills at tagging to leave her mark on places she's been. [5]
