"A Race to the Finish" is the fourth episode of the Star Wars: Droids animated television series, which is based on the greater Star Wars multimedia franchise developed by filmmaker George Lucas. The episode was directed by Ken Stephenson with a teleplay written by Peter Sauder and Steven Wright. It first aired on ABC on Saturday, September 28th, 1985.

- Star Wars was created by writer, director and executive producer George Lucas. It first captured the imaginations of movie goers in May, 1977 with its inaugural installment, which has since come to be identified by its full title, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The movie led to two sequels, a prequel trilogy, a third trilogy, several spin-off films, and numerous television programs, animated projects, novels, comic books, and video games, as well as developing into a merchandising giant.

Allusions[]
- The Boonta Speeder Race was referenced as early as the pilot episode of the series, "The White Witch", but did not make an actual appearance until "A Race to the Finish".
- The concept of the Boonta Speeder Race was later re-tooled as a podracer competition known as the Boonta Eve Classic, which is held on the planet Tatooine. This was first seen in the film Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.
- Reference is made to Jabba the Hutt in this episode. Jabba first appeared in a deleted scene from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, and made his first actual appearance in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
