"The Mark on Gideon" is the fifteenth episode of season three of the science fiction television series Star Trek and the seventieth episode of the series overall. It was directed by Jud Taylor and written by Oliver Crawford based upon an earlier script treatment by Gene L. Coon. It first aired on NBC on Friday, January 17th, 1969. The episode stars series regulars William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy and DeForest Kelley with guest stars James Doohan, Walter Koenig, Nichelle Nichols, George Takei and Majel Barrett. The featured villains of this episode are the Cherons, Bele and Lokai played by Frank Gorshin and Lou Antonio.
