Stanhope is an American city located in an unknown state. It is situated on the east coast region of the country, possibly even in Virginia, though this has never been established. It is a short drive from Gotham City, and is possibly located close to the town of Leesburg. The most notable point of interest in Stanhope University.
There is at least one cemetery in Stanhope, though its name is unknown. A mystical cult led by a man named Zond operated out of Stanhope.

- Also known as just Stanhope College, Stanhope University was a collegiate learning center. Kara Zor-El attended school there after graduating from Midvale High School. She registered for classes under her human identity, Linda Lee Danvers. Stanhope University was once terrorized by a motorcycle gang called Nasty's Nasties, who were led by a woman named Nasthalthia "Nasty" Luthor, who tried to ferret out Supergirl's secret identity.
