Stam was a minor character featured in the science fiction television series Andromeda. Played by actor Johnny Mah, he appeared in the series' pilot episode "Under the Night".
Biography[]
Stam was a Weapons Officer aboard the Commonwealth starship Andromeda Ascendant. In the year CY 9784, Andromeda received a stellar alert originating from the Hephaistos System. The crew of Andromeda responded, but when they arrived at the location, they found a fleet of Nietzschean warships perched on the perimeter of a black hole. The Andromeda was a prime target for the ambush and the thousands of Nietzschean ships quickly eradicated what had been years of peace between them and the Commonwealth. Stam's station was destroyed when a Nietzschean ship opened fire on the Andromeda. Stam's partner and fellow officer Thompson was killed instantly. Stam checked over his friend's silent body before receiving the order from Captain Hunt to abandon ship. [1]

- The character of Stam was created by Robert Hewitt Wolfe and Allan Kroeker based on concepts originally developed by Gene Roddenberry.
- Although Stam survived the Battle of Hephaistos, it is just as likely that he may have been killed in of the subsequent conflicts that resulted in the fall of the Systems Commonwealth.
