St. John Allerdyce is a fictional super-villain and a recurring antagonist featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is associated with the X-Men line of titles and first appeared in The X-Men #141 in January, 1981. Pyro has also appeared in the 1992 X-Men animated series where he was voiced by actor Graham Halley. He made four appearances in the series. The character has also appeared in the X-Men film series, where he was played by actor Aaron Stanford.

St. John Allerdyce is an Australian mutant who was born with the ability to increase the range and intensity of any nearby existing flame.

Powers[]

  • Pyrokinesis: Pyro can intensify existing flame and direct it towards a target. He can intensify flames to burn a human target to a smoldering husk within seconds. He can also shape flames into a variety of patterns such as creating giant flame claws, or serpentine shapes, etc.

Weaknesses[]

  • Power restriction: Pyro does not generate flame himself, but only acts as an accelerant. He needs an existing flame within close proximity, such as a lighter, in order for his powers to take affect.
