Soul perception is a supernatural or paranormal power. It is the ability to gauge one's strength of character based upon the perception of their soul. This ability is usually possessed by cosmic beings, gods, or other entities of a deific nature. Those who possess this power may take action against an individual, or show favor towards a being, based upon the perception of their soul. The ultimate result is usually some form of punishment or reward. When Danny Ketch was the host for the Ghost Rider, he possessed a power he called the "Penance Stare", which enabled him to not only perceive the malefic history of a target, but force the emotional weight of their sins back upon them. The undead mass murderer known as Evil Ernie could perceive the strength of an individual's characters, which usually presented itself as worded markings upon their skin, such as "murderer", "adulterer", etc.
