History[]
The Spindrift was a suborbital passenger spacecraft piloted by Captain Steve Burton and First officer Dan Erickson. The ship employed a single flight attendant named Betty Hamilton. On June 12th, 1983, the ship embarked upon Flight 612 to London, England. It's passenger manifest consisted of Mark Wilson, Valerie Scott, Alexander B. Fitzhugh, Barry Lockridge and his pet dog. As the ship circled Earth's orbit, it experienced severe solar turbulance and the Spindrift was drawn into a large atmospheric anomaly. When it emerged, Captain Burton tried to communicate with London Control A, but quickly realized that the anomaly had diverted them across the galaxy. Burton was forced to make a rocky landing on an unnamed world populated by giants.
Notes & Trivia[]
- A model kit/playset of the Spindrift was created by Polar Lights.
- The passenger seats on the Spindrift were not secured to the floor as evidenced in the pilot episode when Alexander falls to the floor, pulling the chair down with him.
