Overview[]
The Special Tactics and Rescue Service is a law-enforcement agency that serves as an adjunct of the Raccoon City Police Department. The agency is divided into different response units assigned to handle missions too dangerous for traditional law-enforcement. Such units include S.T.A.R.S. Alpha team and S.T.A.R.S. Bravo team. The agency's operations generally included urban crime as well as anti-terrorism. Membership in S.T.A.R.S. was often culled from those with a decorated military background, or civilians who have accredited themselves in the scientific community.
