Spain is a country in Southern Europe. It's major cities include Madrid and Barcelona. It is famous for bull-fighting, conquistadors, the 1992 Summer Olympics and Antonio Banderas. Aside from a few key actors and production crew members, Spain has contributed very little to the science fiction genre as a whole.
Spain is the birth place of film director and screenwriter Alberto Sciamma who was born in Barcelona in 1961. Alberto wrote and directed the 1996 horror/comedy film Killer Tongue. The movie itself was a combined production between Spanish and UK studios.
Fictional history[]
In 1980, a group of eco-terrorists took control of the U.S. embassy in Barcelona, Spain, taking several civilian hostages. Local police arrived on the scene and Interpol sent in a response team to deal with the situation. The leader of the terrorist cell spoke with the hostage negotiator, demanding the shut-down of all facilities operated by the Hope Center, which he believed was developing chemical warfare programs. The Interpol team, led by Lieutenant Mike London stormed the embassy and shot all of the terrorists. Before dying, the leader of the group expressed his concern that the Hope Center's actions would lead to the Apocalypse. [1]
