Soulworld, or Soul World, is a fictional location featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. It first appeared in Avengers Annual #7 in August, 1977. Soulworld is an interdimensional pocket realm inhabited by the souls of those whose spiritual essence had been removed from their physical host bodies. There are many different access points into the Soul World, the most common of which is spiritual transference, which takes place after the body dies. The dimension itself actually exists within the Soul Gem, which is house in the physical universe upon the brow of Adam Warlock. Using the gem, Adam Warlock could kill others by ripping their souls from their body, depositing them into the Soulworld for all eternity. However, some residents of Soulworld have been known to return to the land of the living, including Adam Warlock himself.
