The Soul hunters' vessel is a general term referring to a type of spacecraft featured in the American science fiction television series Babylon 5. Two such vessels were shown in the second episode of season one of the series, "Soul Hunter".
History[]
The Soul hunters' vessel was a single-person long-range spacecraft used by the alien race known as Soul hunters. One Soul Hunter in particular, went rogue after failing to collect the highly coveted soul of an important Minbari diplomat. With this failure, the Soul Hunter took his craft across the Epsilon Eridani star system seeking out worthy individuals, murdering them and collecting their souls via a special extraction device. Each soul he collected was processed and placed into a globe, which he kept on the ship.
A second Soul Hunter, disgusted by the murderous actions of his brother took his own spacecraft and pursued him across the Euphrates Sector. He succeeded in damaging the craft, but not before it could make a hyperspace jump. The crippled ship found it's way towards the space station Babylon 5. Station commander Jeffrey Sinclair took a Starfury out and used his ship's grappling tendrils to reel in the ship before it could collide with the station.
Within a night, the second Soul Hunter's ship emerged from hyperspace and the hunter radioed the station, warning Commander Sinclair about the rogue hunter. (Babylon 5: Soul Hunter)
