The Soul Ring is a fictional mystical item featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. It is part of the mainstream Marvel Universe and is associated with the Spider-Man and Ghost Rider lines of titles. It made a single appearance in a story called "Carnival of Souls!" from Marvel Team-Up #91 in March, 1980.
The Soul Ring was a mystically enhanced piece of jewelry owned and worn by Moondark the Magician. It was empowered by the demonic Dark Master that Moondark answered to. The ring had the ability to absorb and contain a single human soul. Moondark used this ring in concert with his Soul Orb.
At a carnival in Connecticut, Moondark fought against the costumed super-hero known as Spider-Man as well as the Spirit of Vengeance known as Ghost Rider. During the fight, Spider-Man snatched the ring with his web-shooters. It shattered as it impacted with the ground, freeing the soul that it contained. (Marvel Team-Up 91)
