The Sorcerer Supreme is an individual who is charged with maintaining and safeguarding the Earth dimension from all mystical threats. The Sorcerer Supreme is generally one who possesses great mystical potential and is usually the most powerful supernatural being on the planet (often referred to as the Master of the Mystic Arts).
Classically, the title has been attributed to the character of Doctor Stephen Strange, who inherited it upon the passing of his mentor, the Ancient One. For a time, the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme has also passed on to Doctor Doom as well as Brother Voodoo.
