"Metamorphosis" is the second episode of season one of the superhero teen drama series Smallville. It was directed by Michael Watkins and Philip Sgriccia with a script written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. The episode first aired on the WB Network on Tuesday, October 23rd, 2001 at 9:00 pm. In this episode, social outcast Greg Arkin gets bitten by insects infected with green meteor rock radiation, transforming him into a highly evolved "Bug Boy". Arkin sets his sights on Lana Lang, but first must do away with his competition; namely: Clark Kent and Whitney Fordman.
