Sliders is an American science fiction television series that centers on the subject of traveling to parallel worlds. It was created by Tracy Tormé and Robert K. Weiss and aired for five seasons from 1995 to 2000, spanning a total of eighty-seven episodes. The first three seasons of the show aired on the FOX Network with the final two seasons airing on the Sci-Fi Channel. The series had a turbulent production history, which resulted in questionable creative changes and numerous cast changes. The main character from the show is Quinn Mallory, played by actor Jerry O'Connell, who is a young genius who develops the technology that allows he and his friends to travel to parallel worlds. O'Connell himself stepped away from the series following season four, and was replaced by Robert Floyd, who assumed the part of a parallel double of Quinn Mallory. Actor Cleavant Derricks played Rembrandt "Crying Man" Brown, and is the only cast member to feature in all five seasons of the show. Sabrina Lloyd played Wade Welles, who appeared in the first three seasons. Her role in the series was replaced by Kari Wuhrer, who played Maggie Beckett in seasons 4-5. Actor John Rhys-Davies played Professor [Maximilian Arturo]] in the first two seasons, and then played an evil version of Arturo from another reality for season three before departing the show altogether. Actress Tembi Locke joined the show in season five as Diana Davis. She and Robert Floyd began the season as guest-stars, but were bumped up to the main cast with episode 5x02.
Series star Jerry O'Connell bowed out after season four. For season five, the role of Quinn Mallory was played by Robert Floyd. To be clear, this version of Quinn Mallory was actually the fraternal double of the regular Quinn Mallory from an alternate world, who had melded with the original Quinn.
Actor Charlie O'Connell became a recurring guest star on Sliders in the role of Colin Mallory - an alternate reality "brother" to Quinn Mallory. Charlie O'Connell is the actual brother of series star Jerry O'Connell. He appeared in nineteen episodes of the series.
