"Puppy Love" is the second episode of season one of the children's adventure series Sigmund and the Sea Monsters and the second episode of the series overall. It was directed by Richard Dunlap with a script written by Rita Sedran Rose. It first aired on NBC on Saturday morning on September 15th, 1973.
Plot[]
Johnny and Scott Stuart encounter an older girl named Peggy, who is trying to keep up with her dog, Fluffy. Johnny kind of likes Peggy, but it is Fluffy who becomes the object d'amour after Sigmund casts his eyes upon her. Sigmund is hopelessly in love now. Scott tries to make Sigmund understand that Fluffy is a dog and cannot recipricopate Sigmund's affections - at least not in the way Sigmund expects.
Meanwhile, the Ooze family try once again to lure Sigmund back to the cave at Dead Man's Point. They find a picture of one of Sigmund's favorite pin-up monsters, Diana Demon. Big Daddy makes Slurp dress up as Diana and sends him off to seduce Sigmund.
Meanwhile, Stuart family housekeeper Zelda Marshall breaks the most serious cardinal rule - she goes into the boys' clubhouse. Sigmund cannot hide in time, so he collapses into an unmoving heap onto the floor. Zelda thinks that it is just a giant pile of seaweed, so she collects it, piles Sigmund into a trash can and leaves him to be picked up. The sanitation drivers take Sigmund to the city dump.
The boys rescue Sigmund and bring him back to the clubhouse. Slurp sneaks inside and tries to convince Sigmund that he is in fact Diana Demon. Sigmund is still infatuated with Fluffy however, and spurns "Diana's" affection. Scott finally convinces Sigmund to forego his fondness for Fluffy. Johnny however, still feels something in his heart for Peggy though.
