A group of eight friends go on a hiking/camping trip out in the woods. The guide on the trip is a man named Tom. He tells the group they only have a short while to go before they set up camp. One of the group, Ryan, offers up sarcastic encouragement. Two others, a husband and wife named Clark and Willa give each other uncomfortable silent stares.
As night falls, they set up camp and sit around a fire. Ryan tries to keep things light by telling old stories. Highly inebriated, he proposes a toast, which concludes with the phrase "A toast -- to old pals, new friends... and fresh starts!" This makes things even more awkward within the group, as Clark and Willa are clearly having marriage issues. Willa excuses herself and goes off to bed. After she leaves, Tom leans over to Clark and suggest that Willa and she should talk. Clark goes inside the tent, but Willa tells him that it was a mistake to come here.
While Clark and Willa are inside their tent, the rest of the group discuss the situation. It is revealed that Clark did something illegal relating to accounting and went away for a while, during which time Willa had an affair. Members of the group begin bickering among themselves as they clearly have taken sides in the dispute.
Tom excuses himself to go relieve himself. While urinating on a tree, he spots Willa running naked through the forest. He calls out to her, but she doesn't answer. He follows her and finds her crouching near a tree. As he gets closer, Willa transforms into a giant twenty-plus foot amorphous blob with tentacles. The tentacles grab Tom and tears the flesh right off his bones. Dropping his body onto the ground, the creature turns back into Willa and walks off into the night. To be continued!

A realtor named Grace shows a man named Trevor his new home. He is excited to be living in a larger place as opposed to the cramped apartment he had been living in. Grace learns that he is a divorced father, who occasionally gets some time with his kids. Grace reads this as "available", and puts a friendly palm on Trevor's shoulder. She then gives him the final walk-through of his new home before handing him the keys.
Sometime later, Trevor gets to unloading the moving truck. He gets midway through before he tires and decides to get some sleep. When he awakens, he goes downstairs to find that the house is completely unpacked and there is even fresh coffee available. It is if the house had somehow magically answered his subconscious desires.
Trevor goes outside where his ex-wife Nancy and her new husband Kyle drop off his children, Jiordie and Fiona. Trevor brings them inside and demonstrates the magical nature of his new home. Various belongings begin floating and zooming all across the house based on Trevor's desires. The kids ask him if he is scared that his house is haunted, but Trevor insists that it is not. Further though, he makes them promise to keep all of this a secret from their mother. As the children continue to play games and eat snacks, they cannot see the menagerie of bizarre and monstrous invisible creatures that are responsible for the seeming acts of magic. To be continued!
