"Shit/Cyblade: The Battle for Independents" is a one-shot inter-company crossover between Crusade Comics and Top Cow Productions - an imprint of Image Comics. It features the Crusade character of Shi and the Top Cow character, Cyblade. The story was written by William Tucci & Gary Cohn and features artwork by multiple artists. It was colored by Jonathan D. Smith and lettered by Dennis Heisler. The story was edited by Peter Gutierrez. This issue shipped with a September, 1995 cover date and carries a cover price of $2.95 per copy (US).

Appearances[]

The character of Ana Ishikawa, aka Shi, was created by Billy Tucci. She first appeared in Razor Annual #1 by London Night Studios in 1993.

Witchblade was created by writer and artist Marc Silvestri as well as writers Brian Haberlin and David Wohl. She first appeared in the main story, as well as her own four-page back-up feature in the Cyblade/Shi: The Battle for Independents one-shot special, which was published by Image Comics under their Top Cow Productions imprint and Crusade Comics in August, 1995.

This issue shipped with a variant cover illustrated by William Tucci and Nelson Ascencio.

The subtitle of this issue is a play on the word "Independence", but also relates Crusade Comics Top Cow Productions being independent comic book companies.
