A Shi'ar pressure suit is a fictional item featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. It is associated with the X-Men line of titles and first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #164 in January, 1982.
Pressure suits were outfitted on most Shi'ar space vessels. They were worn by crew members to engage in a spacewalk in order to affect repairs on the outer hull of the ship. The pressure suits were highly durable and designed to withstand the rigors of outer space.
When the X-Men traveled with Lilandra Neramani aboard her space yacht, they came under attack by the Brood. Junior X-Men member Kitty Pryde donned a pressure suit to go outside and do repair work. She had the added advantage of her mutant power in intangibility which allowed oncoming laser fire to pass harmlessly through her, and by extension through the pressure suit without harming it.
