Shelagh Fraser was a British actress born in Surrey, England on November 25th, 1922. She was awarded a scholarship to the Croydon Repertory Theatre in Croydon, Surrey where she made her debut in 1938. She later became a member of the BBC Repertory Company. In 1977, Shelagh earned a place in science fiction history for her portrayal of Beru Lars, the kind-hearted aunt of Luke Skywalker in the classic Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. It was her only role in a sci-fi project. Shelagh Fraser passed away in London on August 29th, 2000.
