Sheffield is a city located in the county of Yorkshire in the country of England. It has appeared on episodes of the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. One of the historical areas of Sheffield is Hallamshire. Sheffield is known for its steel industry, and as a manufacturer of fine cutlery.
Ryan Sinclair, Graham O'Brien, Grace O'Brien and Yasmin Khan all lived in Sheffield. Ryan and Yasmin were born and raised in Sheffield, and attended school together as children at Redlands Primary.
As an adult, Yasmin Khan worked for the Hallamshire Police.
Sheffield became the staging ground for an alien hunting party conducted by the Stenza. Ryan, Yasmin, Graham and Grace all found themselves pulled into this affair wherein the met the recently regenerated female Time Lord known as The Doctor. The Doctor cobbled together a unique sonic screwdriver, which was comprised of spoons, batteries, assorted miscellaneous items and a smattering of "Sheffield steel".
