Shayera Thal is a fictional alien law-enforcement officer and superhero best known by the code name of Hawkwoman. She is featured in comic books published by DC Comics and first appeared in The Brave and the Bold #34 in March, 1961. Due to the complexity involving the ever-evolving continuity of the "Hawkworld" characters, there have been several different iterations of the Hawkwoman character, including alternate origin stories.
