Shadows is a British anthology television series that presented tales of horror, fantasy and science fiction aimed at children. The series was produced by Thames Television and aired on ITV from September, 1975 to November, 1978, spanning a total of twenty episodes.

Notes & Trivia[]

  • Shadows was nominated for two BAFTA Awards in 1976 and 1977. Pamela Lonsdale was named the nominee for the category of Drama/Light Entertainment in 1976 and Ruth Boswell was named for the same category in 1977.
  • The program was released on Region 2 DVD in the United Kingdom under the title Shadows: The Complete First Series. The collection was produced by Network and released on November 1st, 2010.
  • Russell Hunter's character from "Dutch Schlitz's Shoes", Mister Stabs, is actually a character originally featured on three episodes of the family series Ace of Wands in 1971.
  • Actress Sophie Ward made her acting debut in the finale to series one, "The Other Window". She would go on to appear in an episode of Chiller as well as films such as The Hunger, Waxwork II: Lost in Time and Book of Blood.
