Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D. is an American independent feature film of the action, comedy and superhero fantasy genres. It was directed by Michael Herz and Lloyd Kaufman with a screenplay written by Kaufman, Andrew Osborne and Jeffrey W. Sass based on a story concept by Lloyd Kaufman. Additional material was provided by Cliff Hahn and Robert Coffey. It was produced by Troma Entertainment and premiered at the Tokyo International Fantastic Film Festival in 1990. It opened to extremely limited theatrical release in the United States on January 1st, 1991. It was screened at WorldFest Houston on April 20th, 1991.
