A severed ear is an ear that has been deliberately removed from the body. This mostly relates to humans, but may also apply to animals as well. Except for frogs. Frogs don't have ears.

- Defiance: The World We Seize: - Rahm Tak decorates his caravan with the severed heads of humans and eats their ears for the simple joy of it.
- Walking Dead: Chupacabra: Daryl Dixon, in a delusional and exhausted state, cuts off the ears from three walkers and strings them on a leather cord, which he wears around his neck. Andrea is one of the first to notice this bizarre trophy when he makes it back to the Greene farm.
- The X-Files: Kitten: In the Vietnam War, John James collected human ears of his victims as trophies and strung them as a necklace.
- Walking Dead: Triggerfinger: Carol Peletier found Daryl's collection of severed undead ears drying on a clothes line at the Greene farm.

- Fly, The: In the remake of The Fly, Seth Brundle began slowly transforming into a large bipedal insect man. As such, his body began eschewing the parts that it deemed unnecessary or redundant, including his ear, which fell off of his head into his hand.
