Biography[]

Selina Kyle in civilian attire.
Selina Kyle hailed from the reality known as Earth-37. She resided in Gotham City and was an exotic dancer at a night club called The Scratching Post. Selina was also known as a police informant and had consulted with Gotham City Police Department detective Bruce Wayne on many occasions.
In 1961, after giving Wayne some information relating to crime boss Bianca Steeplechase, Selina found herself the target of Bianca's goons. They murdered Selina by throwing her out the window of her apartment. Corrupt police detectives with connections to the mayor tried to pin Selina's death on Bruce Wayne, forcing Wayne to become a fugitive from justice.
Barbara Gordon, who was secretly a costumed adventurer named Batgirl, took advantage of Kyle's demise and planted evidence in her apartment, making it appear as if Selina was secretly Batgirl.
