- The character of Sean Cassidy was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Werner Roth.
- In the 1992 X-Men animated series, the voice of Banshee was provided by actor Jeremy Ratchford. Ratchford also played a live-action version of Banshee in the 1996 Generation X television movie
- In the 2011 feature film X-Men: First Class, the role of Banshee was played by actor Caleb Landry Jones.
