Scream 4 is an American feature film of the slasher subgenre of horror. It is the fourth installment in the Scream film series, making it the third sequel in the franchise. It was directed by Wes Craven with a screenplay written by Kevin Williamson. It was presented by Dimension Films and produced by Corvus Corax, Outerbanks Entertainment and the Weinstein Company. It had its U.S. premiere in Hollywood, California on April 11th, 2011. It opened nationally on April 15th, 2011.

- Production on Scream 4 began on March 22nd, 2010. Pre-production concluded on June 25th, 2010. Principal photography began on June 28th, 2010 and concluded on September 22nd, 2010. Reshoots on the film were conducted between January 29th, 2011 and February 2nd, 2011. The movie was shot in Michigan with key filming locations including Ann Arbor, Detroit, Northville, Livonia, Plymouth and Dearborn. [3][4]

- Actress Marley Shelton also appeared in the 1999 romcom Never Been Kissed, which stars Drew Barrymore, who appeared in the first Scream film. Shelton and Barrymore also worked on the 2022 film Scream, though Barrymore only had an uncredited role as a voice over a loudspeaker.
- Actress Heather Graham appears courtesy of archival footage from the fictional Stab movie, where she plays that franchise's version of Casey Becker. This scene was originally presented in the beginning of Scream 2.
