Savage Tales is an American illustrated magazine series published by Marvel Comics under their Curtis Magazines imprint. It was published from May 1971 to July 1975, spanning a total of eleven issues. Savage Tales specialized in the Sword & Sorcery genre, and focused on the black and white exploits of its feature character, Conan.

- Issues #2-3 adapts the "Red Nails" storyline. This story was first published in the July-October, 1936 issues of Weird Tales. This was the last Conan story written by Robert E. Howard.

- Conan was created by pulp novelist Robert E. Howard in 1932. He first appeared in the short story, "The Phoenix on the Sword", originally published in the December, 1932 edition of Weird Tales.
- The character of Ka-Zar was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby. He first appeared in The X-Men, Volume 1 #10 in March, 1965. This title is the first time that the character's adventures are presented in a serialized format.
