Sault Ste. Marie is a city on the St. Marys River in Ontario, Canada, close to the US–Canada border. It is the seat of the Algoma District and the third largest city in Northern Ontario, after Sudbury and Thunder Bay.
To the south, across the river, is the United States and the city of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
In the Marvel Universe, Sault Ste. Marie osted a Roxxon research facility. Roxxon had proposed to build a biochip implant for the Canadian government's Department H and Armed Forces. Believing Roxxon had co-opted the agreement and endangered the lives and security of Canadians, James Hudson (Weapon Alpha) attacked the facility to destroy the manufacturing equipment.
