Description[]

Sandmen serve as the active law-enforcement contingent of the 23rd century. Their function is to insure that all those who approaching the age of thirty engage in Carousel, which is a function wherein their bodies supposedly rejuvenate into the next stage of their life cycles (in truth, all it results in is the death of the individual).

In the 23rd century, Logan-5 and Francis-7 worked as Sandmen, chasing down those elected to evade the Carousel process, also known as runners. When Logan-5 discovered the truth about Carousel, he tried to expose the flaw in the system, and became a runner himself.
