"Passengers" is the title to the fifth issue of the second Sandman ongoing comic book series published by DC Comics. The story was written by Neil Gaiman with artwork by Sam Kieth and inks by Malcolm Jones, III. It was colored by Daniel Vozzo and lettered by Todd Klein. The story was edited by Karen Berger with Art Young as assistant editor. This issue shipped with a May, 1989 cover date and carries a cover price of $1.50 per copy (US).

- The character of Dream, also known as the Sandman, was created by English writer Neil Gaiman and artists Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg. He first appeared in The Sandman, Volume 2 #1 in January, 1989 in a story titled "Sleep of the Just".
- The Martian Manhunter appears next in Justice League America #26.
- Mister Miracle appears next in Mister Miracle #1.
- In Martian culture, Dream is known as L'zoril. The Martian Manhunter offers up a prayer to him in this issue, which reads "May you guard us in the darkness and on the pathway between waking hours, and protect us in dreams from the flame of your wrath".
- There is a movie marquee for Night of the Living Dead seen in this issue. This is a seminal 1968 horror classic by director George A. Romero, which basically redefined the role of the zombie in horror cinema.
