Sam Lesser is a fictional murderer & student and a recurring antagonist featured in the Locke & Key family of comic book titles published by IDW Publishing. He first appeared in Locke & Key #1 in February, 2008. The character also appeared on the Locke & Key television series on Netflix, where he was played by actor Thomas Mitchell Barnet.
Biography[]
Sam Lesser was a troubled teenager, who grew up in Willits, California. He was a classmate and contemporary of Tyler Locke. Sam was influenced by an evil spirit called Dodge who instructed him to kill his parents, and then murder Tyler's parents. Along with co-conspirator Al Grubb, Sam murdered his mother and father and loaded their bodies into the back of a pick-up truck. Al and he then went to the Locke residence to continue the plan. Sam succeeded in shooting Rendell Locke in the chest, killing him. His wife, Nina Locke, and son Tyler fought back. Nina succeeded in killing Al Grubb, and Tyler beat Sam down by smashing his face repeatedly with a brick. Sam survived however and was arrested. He was taken to the San Lobo Juvenile Detention Center where the essence of Dodge continued to manipulate him. [1]
