Sam Beckett is a fictional scientist and time traveler and the main character from the science fiction TV series franchise Quantum Leap. He was played by actor Scott Bakula and appeared in all ninety-seven episodes of the series. The character also appeared in the Quantum Leap spin-off novels, which continued his adventures from the TV show.

- June 25th, 1957 - Sam leaps into the body of a teenager named "Bingo", only to discover that it is actually Al. While trying to resolve a murder mystery, Sam screws up the timeline, which leaves young Al accused and ultimately executed for murder. - December 24th, 1962 - Sam leaps into Reginald Pearson - the valet for business tycoon Michael G. Blake. To prevent Blake's suicide thirteen years later, Sam must convince him to alter his designs for the Blake Plaza, which involves the demolition of the Fifth Street Mission. - May 12th, 1971 - Sam leaps into Florida Death Row inmate Jesus Ortega, who is gets a 48-hour stay of execution for the murder of a priest. While Sam initially believes that he is there to prove Ortega's innocence, he is actually there to exonerate another Death Row inmate, Raul Casta, who was accused of being an accomplice to the crime.
