Salvage 1 is an American science fiction television series of the comedy subgenre. It was produced by Bennett/Katleman Productions and Columbia Pictures Television and aired for two seasons on ABC from January to December, 1979, totalling nineteen episodes (15 aired episodes). The main character of the show is Harry Broderick who owns and operates the Jettison Scrap and Salvage Company. Along with his trusty companions, he travels to various ports of call looking to salvage whatever scraps he can, ultimately involving them all in a series of misadventures including aliens, robots, natural disasters and missing treasure. The series starred Andy Griffith as Harry Broderick, Joel Higgins as retired astronaut Addison "Skip" Carmichael and Trish Stewart as NASA fuel expert Melanie Slozar. Recurring guest stars on the show include J. Jay Saunders as Mack, Richard Jaeckel as Jack Klinger and Richard Eastham as Brinks.

- The final four episodes of the series went unaired during the program's original broadcast. They were finally aired for the first time years later on The Nostalgia Channel in the 1990s.
- Executive producer Harve Bennett is no stranger to the speculative fiction genre. In addition to having a major influence on such staples of the 1970s like The Bionic Woman and The Six Million Dollar Man, he has also worked on programs like Gemini Man, Time Trax and was a producer on the Star Trek film series.
- Actor Richard Eastham, who played Brinks, is also known for playing the role of General Phil Blankenship on season one of the ABC television series Wonder Woman.
