Salem is an American city located in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. It is a coastal community located in Essex County. It has a total land area of 18.1 square miles and a population of more than 41,000 people. It was established as a territory in 1629 and became an incorporated city in 1836. Historically, Salem is best known for the controversial Salem Witch Trials in 1692, which resulted in the execution of twenty people.

- Tower of Fate
- The Tower of Fate was created as a safe haven for the host(s) of the Fate persona. The tower contains many valuable artifacts and tomes, both magical and non magical to assist Kent Nelson and later on Inza Nelson. It is not known how many levels the tower had but it also contained many ancient Egyptian artifacts, obviously from the days of Nabu and or Kent's archaeological days.

- Salem Center is a community located in the town of North Salem in Westchester County, New York. In speculative fiction, Salem Center is home to the superhero team, the X-Men, who live and work out of the mansion home of the founder, Professor Charles Xavier at 1407 Graymalkin Lane. Professor Xavier renovated his family's home into a school designed to train mutants dubbed Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.
- Winston-Salem is a city in the US state of North Carolina. Actor John L. Adams, who played Bruce Lewis in Stephen King's The Dead Zone was born in Winston-Salem on December 4th, 1970.
- New Salem is a fictional town featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. It first appeared in Fantastic Four, Volume 1 #185 in August, 1977.
