Salvatore Vincent "Sal" Maroni is a fictional crime boss featured in comic books published by DC Comics. He is part of the mainstream DC Universe, with his origins going back to the Golden Age era. He first appeared in Detective Comics #66 in August, 1942. The character has also made appearances in season one of the FOX Network television series Gotham where he was played by actor David Zayas. Sal Maroni plays an integral role in the origin of the villain known as Two-Face.
