The Safe-Cracker Brigade is a fictional criminal gang featured in comic books published by DC Comics. They appeared in All-Star Comics #37 in November, 1941 in a story titled "The Injustice Society of the World!"
History[]
The Safe-Cracker Brigade was a gang of criminals that operated out of Washington, D.C. in the 1940s. They used smoke generating devices to obfuscate their activities. Their plan was to take control of the Washington Monument with smoke bombs from the sky. While this may have been an ideal strategy in most cases, it proved ineffective against the costumed mystery man known as Doctor Mid-Nite, who could see in the dark as well as anyone else could in the light. He easily took them down.
