Biography[]

Steel Vengeance

Steel Vengeance - Resurrected.

Sadae Tsumura was a woman of Japanese descent. She was the younger sister of Ruriko Tsumura, who later became a cybernetic villain named Steel Wind. When Ruriko was rendered insensate after being exposed to the Hellfire touch of the Ghost Rider, Sadae offered herself up to Rurko's benefactor and underwent her own cybernetic conversion. She assumed the alias of Steel Vengeance and swore vengeance against the Ghost Rider's human host, Johnny Blaze.

While in Montana, Steel Vengeance abducted a hitchhiker named Tim Andrew. She brought him back to a manor house where she used him as the canvas for her perverse sense of art, which included violence and the shedding of blood.

She was contacted by a colleague named Styge, who gave her information on where to find Johnny Blaze. At this point in his life, Johnny Blaze was separate from the Ghost Rider spirit, and frequently rode with him while the Ghost Rider was housed within the body of Danny Ketch.

When Steel Vengeance finally found them, the Ghost Rider had fallen into a mysterious "demon coma" and was completely vulnerable to her attack. Deriving no satisfaction from bludgeoning an unconscious skeleton, she turned her attention on Blaze's friends at the Quentin Carnival. The carny folks were not shy about fighting back, and Johnny Blaze sprung from the shadows at her, knocking her about with a 2x4. Zarathos finally awakened and fought against Steel Vengeance as well. He attempted to give her the Penance Stare, but she confessed that she had sold her soul long ago in exchange for vengeance.

Steel Vengeance attempted to flee from her adversaries, but Blaze and Ghost Rider pursued her. She accelerated her cycle across a gorge, but could not clear the gap. The vehicle crashed into the ravine below and exploded. [2]

Notes & Trivia[]

  • In her original iteration, Steel Vengeance's cybernetic components consisted of prosthetic arms and legs (which likely included some form of spinal reinforcement), as well as a semi-face plate that covered her nose and forehead, though this could have been just a mask.
  • Steel Vengeance used to have long purple died hair with a white streak down the center.
