The Sacred Shroud is a fictional item featured in the Hammer Horror film series. It appeared in the 1967 film The Mummy's Shroud. The Sacred Shroud was from Ancient Egypt and was covered with Egyptian symbols and prayers. It was used as a death-blanket for deceased royalty. Two-thousand years ago when the slave known as Prem was charged with protecting the adolescent Prince, Kah-to-Bey, he took him out into the deep desert. When Kah-to-Bey died, Prem covered him with the Sacre Shroud. In 1920, an archaeology expedition led by Sir Basil Walden, recovered the remains of the Prince in the Tomb of Kah-to-Bey and found the shroud. Both the body and the shroud were taken to a Restoration House in Mezzara. A Muslim radical named Hasmid Ali used the shroud as part of a ritual to awaken the mummy of Prem.
