- Sabretooth was created by writer Chris Claremont and artist John Byrne. He first appeared in Iron Fist, Volume 1 #14 in August, 1977 in a story called "Snowfire".
- This issue shipped with a die-cut cover enhancement that opens up to a painted image of Sabretooth.
- Flashback scenes of Victor Creed's childhood are expanded upon in the X-Men Origins: Sabretooth one-shot special in 2009.
- This is the first appearance of Graydon Creed as Tribune.
