Biography[]
Notes & Trivia[]
- Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is actress Kirstie Alley's first film work.
- Kirstie Alley did not return to the franchise following Star Trek II due to her commitments to the TV series Cheers. Allegedly, Alley would have agreed to reprise the role of Saavik, but wanted more money than the studio was willing to pay her. She was replaced by Robin Curtis for Star Trek III and IV.
- Saavik was born the same year as Tuvok - the Vulcan character from Star Trek: Voyager.
- Director Nicholas Meyer originally wanted actress Kim Cattrall for the part of Saavik. Cattrall may have not played Saavik, but she did work in the franchise as another character, Valeris, in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (also directed by Nicholas Meyer).
