Ryker's Island is a fictional island, as well as the name of prison facility located upon it. It is featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics, and is part of the mainstream Marvel Universe. It is an analog to the real-world Riker's Island facility. It first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man, Volume 1 #4 in September, 1963.

Ryker's Island is a prison facility located on an island in the East River between the mainland of The Bronx and the borough of Queens in New York City. The prison is a super-max facility that houses not only general convicts, but also those of the superhuman variety.
The warden of Ryker's Island once invited Captain America to the prison to put on a demonstration of his athletic abilities. This was actually a trap perpetuated by a prisoner who had kidnapped the warden and taken his place. Along with several other prisoners, the fake warden captured Captain America and Capt had to fight his way through all of the convicts in Cell Block 10 in order to escape and free the real warden. [1]
