Ross Sturlin played the creature in the 1958 film Night of the Blood Beast. The following year, he played one of the giant leeches in the original Attack of the Giant Leeches. He was uncredited for his part in the film. Sturlin has also appeared in episodes of The Rebel, Have Gun, Will Travel and Combat.

- In Attack of the Giant Leeches, Ross Sturlin and Guy Buccola, who played the giant leeches wore thin, plastic sack suits and used SCUBA equipment for their underwater scenes. In some instances, their SCUBA tanks are clearly visible.
