Rosewell Sanitarium is a fictional location and a recurring minor setting featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. It is associated with the character of Man-Thing and first appeared in Man-Thing, Volume 3 #3 in February, 1998 in a story called "Christmas in Bedlam!".
Rosewell Sanitarium was a mental health facility located in Charles, Massachusetts. Years ago, during the holiday season, the former Devil-Slayer known as Eric Simon Payne was admitted there as a patient after having a fragment of the Nexus of All Realities embedded into his being. In addition to driving him insane, it opened his mind to a nightmarish Hellscape through which he received even further torment at the hands of an Antediluvian deity known as Mister Termineus. One of the staff members at the asylum was a large black nurse who, in Payne's mindscape, often appeared as a domineering and sometimes demonic looking presence. In truth, the nurse was strict but caring. She even tried to lift people's spirits in getting them to engage in Christmas carols. Another being who ended up as a patient at the asylum was an immortal figure known as Sorrow.
