- Rom was created by Scott Dankman, Richard C. Levy and Bryan L. McCoy as an action figure developed by Parker Bros, which later became an asset for Hasbro. It was a developed further as a comic book character for Marvel Comics by writer Bill Mantlo and artist Sal Buscema. ROM first appeared in Rom #1 in December, 1979 in a story called "Arrival!"
