Rollerball is an American feature film of the action, science fiction and sports drama genres. It was directed by Norman Jewison with a screenplay written by William Harrison, based upon Harrison's short story Rollerball Murder. The movie was produced by Algonquin and released theatrically through United Artists. It premiered in the United States on June 25th, 1975. Rollerball stars James Caan as Jonathan E., who is the star athlete of the Houston Rollerball team. The film also stars John Houseman as Bartholomew, Maud Adams as Ella, John Beck as Moonpie, Moses Gunn as Cletus, and Pamela Hensley as Mackie.
