Rog is a fictional robot and a one-time antagonist featured in comic books published by DC Comics. He was introduced during DC's Silver Age Earth-One continuity and first appeared in Doom Patrol #86 in March, 1964.
Biography[]
Rog was a giant red robot invented by Niles Caulder. It was several stories tall and had superhuman strength and durability. The head-piece of the robot was actually a pilot capsule, where a living operator would sit and control the robot's actions.
A man named Eric Morden stole the robot as a means of earning his way into membership of the Brotherhood of Evil. Piloting the monstrosity, he began terrorizing a major American city, destroying a suspension bridge in the process. Caulder's team, the Doom Patrol, engaged Rog and Elasti-Girl grappled with it, while Robotman pounded at its footing to make it lose its balance. [3]
