Roderick Krupp, also known aa "Digger", is a fictional grave-digger featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. He was patterned in the style of horror-story host similar to the Crypt Keeper from the old Tales from the Crypt comic book series published by EC Comics in the 1950s. He served as the host for the Tower of Shadows horror anthology series, which was published by Marvel from 1969 to 1971.
Biography[]
Very little is known about the true nature and history of Roderick Krupp. It is not even clear if he is entirely human. Based upon his physical appearance, he seems to be a ghoul, or possibly even a reanimate.
Roderick Krupp excelled at two professions, grave-digging and story-telling. He was often seen tending to the cemetery outside his chosen home, the Tower of Shadows, in Santa Monica, California. He worked here with his associate, Headstone P. Gravely. Roderick Krupp, along with other strange adventurers of the supernatural became part of a group known as the Night Shift.
